I teach hatha yoga, a blend of meditation, breathing, asanas, and relaxation. My personal yoga practice is rooted in the Iyengar tradition which inspires me to teach with the principles of alignment while offering students a nurturing and open, friendly class. I am  playful and lighthearted while  encouraging students to explore their own patterns to discover a deeper experience of yoga and life. I like to begin and end class with readings ranging from Rumi to the Yoga Sutras, and from the Bhagavad Gita to contemporary poetry.

My current class schedule:

Monday: Metter Methodist Church, 5-6 p.m., $10 -- on hold for a few weeks.
Wednesday    Yoga on Vine, Mindful Flow, $8, 5:30-6:45
Thursday:       Statesboro Recreation Department, 5:45-6:45, $5
Saturday:Yoga on Vine, 9:30-10:45, $8

I have been practicing yoga since 1986 when a friend invited me to a class after my son was born. Over the years my practice has varied, stopped completely, and been revived. After many years of contemplation, I finally saw that my path was in teaching.  I received my 200 hour teacher certification in May 2010.

September Promotion

If you already come to Yoga on Vine, bring a friend to one of my classes (Wednesday, September 7 or Saturday September 10) and you and your friend pay only $4 each. That's half off the regular price.

I teach every day at the Charter Conservatory for Liberal Arts and Technology where I lead two classes -- one high school and one middle school -- in a 45 minute yoga practice.
